On Saturday, Texas Wesleyan University played the University of Science and Arts, losing a close game on the road 12-11.
Both teams showed great offensive strength, scoring a combined 23 runs on 33 hits. However, their defensive performance could have been more impressive, with both teams making a total of three errors each.
Texas Wesleyan's offensive highlights included

Hayden Hutchins' four hits. The team scored three runs in the fourth inning
thanks to Cheaney's two-run homer and Barrett's solo homer. They also scored three runs in the sixth inning, with Kevin Santiago's RBI single and Barrett's two-run triple.
Science and Arts' offensive standouts included Nathan Fleckenst's three hits and two RBIs, Carlos Martinez's two hits and two RBIs, and Gavin Gaunt's three-run homer in the fourth inning. In the seventh inning, they scored three runs to take the lead, including a go-ahead RBI single by Patrick McDowall.
Despite the high-scoring game, both teams had defensive lapses. Texas Wesleyan's defense committed three errors, which led to three unearned runs for Science and Arts. Science and Arts' defense also committed three errors, which allowed Texas Wesleyan to score four unearned runs.
Returning home this week, the Rams next play on March 31 against Oklahoma City University, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
