The Lady Rams' historic season continues with an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, with play opening on Tuesday in Alexandria, LA.
The Lady Rams will play Lady Barons on March 7, hoping to advance to the Second Round on Wednesday. The Lady Barons will make their first tournament appearance since the 2005-2006 season. Brewton-Parker College received an at-large bid to the tournament and a 12th seed.
The Lady Rams completed a season that saw the team break the record for most wins in a row with 17—breaking the previous school record of 16 from the 1989-90 season. The Lady Rams will be making their fourth appearance in the National Tournament. The most recent appearance came last season when the Lady Rams fell in the First Round to St. Francis (IL), 82-75.
The Lady Barons' last post-season success came after the 2018-19 season when they made a deep run in the NCCAA National Tournament. By winning the DI South Regional Championship and earning a second seed in the tournament, eventually falling in the National Championship game against Mid-America Christian University 87-84.
BPC has been selected to play in the National Tournament on four other occasions and holds a 0-4 record in tournament play. Going into the game on Tuesday, the Lady Barons finished the regular season with a 22-7 record overall, in addition to finishing conference play with a 13-5 record finishing in third place in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Fans can view the game in person or by live stream. First and Second Round games will be played in Alexandria, LA, at the Rapides Parish Coliseum at 5600 Coliseum Boulevard. Tickets for the games can be purchased online through Rapides Parish Coliseum and are also available at the door on the day of the event. Tickets are $15 each. Ages three (3) and above require tickets. NOTE: Ticketmaster fees apply for online sales.
