12 Teams Receive National Recognition From NAIA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its honorees in addition to just over 2,200 NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Friday. The day recognizes the association's highest individual honors and achievements of NAIA student-athletes, administrators and coaches. Additionally, the association announced the eight-member class of the 2022-23 NAIA Hall of Fame.

Texas Wesleyan University had 12 of its athletic programs named NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2022-2023 academic year as part of the NAIA's annual awards day.
 
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution.  The team grade-point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
 
Earning the honor for Wesleyan were the men and women's golf teams, volleyball, men's soccer, softball, men and women's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country, men and women's wrestling and women's outdoor track and field, 

Women's golf led all Rams teams with a 3.86 GPA for the year and was the ninth overall school with the highest GPA in the NAIA.
