VB: Rams Sweep Drovers at Home

Fort Worth, TX - The No. 20 Texas Wesleyan University (8-3, 3-0) swept the University of Science and Arts Drovers (3-5, 0-2) at the Sid Richardson Center on Thursday. The Rams took drilled the Drovers in straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-13.
 
The Rams jumped out to an early 8-2 lead. The Drovers would go on a small run to bring the score to 10 -7. After a Kendall king kill the rams took off and never looked back. The Rams Hit .233 with 13 kills off 30 attempts with seven errors to take set one 25-13. The Drovers would hit -.042 in the first set with just five kills off 24 attempts with 6 errors.

 The Drovers got out to a quick 3-0 to start the second match. Sydney Charlton would be the first Ram to score putting down a ball with authority to wake her team up. The Rams would come out swinging behind the arms of Charlton and Hanna Rubis. The Drovers had no answers for the Rams as they continued their offensive attack. After a stuff block from Sydney Alexander the Drovers were forced to call a time out after at 13-7. The Rams would continue to dominate the front line holding their opponents to just 12 points as they sailed to 25 to take the set.
 
Much like the first two sets the two teams would battle early. The Rams would get the slight one-point edge before taking off yet again and leaving their opponents searching for an answer. The Rams would go on to close out the match 25-13

The Rams have 44 kills in the win hitting a .326 after all three sets. Hanna Rubis led all players with 13 kills followed by Kendal King with 10 kills of her own. Ruby O'Brien would post 21 assists while Makenna Gantt would add 15. Andrea Malek finished the match with 15 digs and Emily Lewis added eight digs.
 
The Rams take on the Evangels of Mid America Christian University Saturday, September 9 at 1:00 pm.
