MBB: Rams Extend Win Streak to Four Games

FORT WORTH, TX - On Monday evening, Texas Wesleyan secured their fourth consecutive victory by defeating the University of Science and Arts with a final score of 65-61.
 

During the first half, the Rams established an early lead with a score of 34-25. Despite the Drovers staging a comeback in the second half and outscoring TXWES 36-31, it fell short of securing a victory.


Kris Lafayette of Texas Wesleyan took center stage, achieving a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds for an impressive double-double. Isaiah Marin also contributed significantly, recording 13 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes of play.


On the opposing side, Reggie Quezada led Science and Arts in scoring with 20 points, while Rory Pantophlet made a notable contribution with 15 points and 10 rebounds.


Texas Wesleyan showcased dominance in points in the paint, accumulating 32 compared to Science and Arts' 24. Furthermore, Texas Wesleyan capitalized on fast-break opportunities, scoring nine points, while Science and Arts failed to register any.


In terms of statistics, TXWES shot 40.4% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the three-point arc, displaying a 60.9% success rate from the charity line. Meanwhile, USAO achieved a 40.7% field goal percentage and a 27.8% three-point accuracy.


Looking ahead, the Rams will hit the road to face Mid-American University in Oklahoma City on Thursday, with tip-off scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
