FORT WORTH, TX - The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball dropped another conference game against the USAO 66-74 Monday evening inside of the Sid Richardson Center.
USAO got off to a quick start taking a quick 10-5 lead midway through the opening quarter. Texas Wesleyan responded with a mini run of their own to tie the score at 12-12 after 10 minutes of action. Though the score remained close for the majority of the second quarter, the Rams trailed 31-28 heading into halftime.
The Drovers would come out the break with a sense of urgency as the second half would see them go on a 12-2 run to start. The Rams would start to knock down shots and would pick up their defensive effort, but USAO would hold them off just enough to keep a 52-44 lead into the fourth quarter.
Both teams would have an impressive showing in the fourth quarter, but ultimately the Drovers would come out a win over the Rams.
Mary Nyakundi would finish with 21 points, with a season high five three pointers and Taryn Wills added 15 of her own.
The Rams are back on the road on Thursday, February 1 as they face off against Mid-America Christian University. The game is scheduled for a tip-off at 6:00 p.m. inside of the Gaulke Activity Center.
