Siloam Springs, AR - In a thrilling five-set match, Texas Wesleyan edged out John Brown (Ark.) with a final score of 3-2 on Saturday.
The sets unfolded dramatically, with Texas Wesleyan winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-19, showcasing strong performances from Makenna Gantt, who led with 13 kills and five aces.
However, John Brown fought back, claiming the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-14, driven by Erin Mullins' 11 kills and Tessa Burton's 32 assists.
In the fifth set, Texas Wesleyan regained momentum, securing a 15-12 victory, with key contributions including Ruby O'Brien's 19 assists and Hannah Rubis' six blocks.
Overall, Texas Wesleyan outperformed with 55 kills and 78 points compared to John Brown's 47 kills and 70 points.
The win boosts Texas Wesleyan's record to 16-7, with the Rams scheduled to return to the Martin Center on Friday at 6 p.m. against Wayland Baptist University.
