FB: No. 7 Texas Wesleyan Secures Third Straight Conference Title, First Outright Championship with 63-42 Victory Over Louisiana Christian

PINEVILLE, LA — Seventh-ranked Texas Wesleyan capped off an undefeated season (10-0, 8-0 SAC) with a dominant 63-42 win over Louisiana Christian on Saturday, claiming their third consecutive conference title and first outright championship. The Rams' explosive offense and milestone performances propelled them past the Wildcats in a high-scoring showdown at Wildcat Field.

Ernest Ceasar etched his name into the NAIA record books, scoring five rushing touchdowns to bring his career total to 76, surpassing the previous record for most career touchdowns. Ceasar's efforts included a game-sealing 51-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach.

The Rams set the tone early after Louisiana Christian opened the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run by Daylon Charles. On the ensuing kickoff, Jaysen Price's 81-yard return set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Ceasar, igniting a 21-point first quarter. Ceasar added two more scores on runs of 17 and 3 yards to give Texas Wesleyan a 21-7 lead after one quarter.

Louisiana Christian (4-7, 3-5 SAC) fought back in the second quarter, with Charles scoring twice to cut the deficit to 28-21 at halftime. The Rams countered with an efficient drive capped by Ashton Mitchell-Johnson's 1-yard touchdown run and stellar defensive efforts from Sincere Blackmon and Easton Schultz.

Ceasar continued to dominate in the second half, breaking loose for a 51-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-21. A resilient Wildcats offense kept the game within reach, but Carson Rodgers connected with A.J. Bobb for two fourth-quarter touchdown that sealed the victory.

The Rams' balanced attack showcased Rodgers' 247 passing yards and Bobb's two scores, while the defense made timely plays to stifle Louisiana Christian's comeback attempts.

With the win, Texas Wesleyan concludes their regular season with a perfect record, further cementing their status as a national contender heading into the postseason.
