MBB: Rams Fall in Overtime Thriller, 76-75

FORT WORTH, TX - Despite leading for most of the second half, the Texas Wesleyan Rams (4-1, 0-1 SAC) fell to the University of North Texas at Dallas Trailblazers (4-2, 1-2 SAC) in a heart-pounding 76-75 overtime loss.

Top performers for the Rams included Trey Sinegal, who posted an impressive 24 points, eight rebounds, and three steals, and Vegas Evans, who contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

The game began with a sluggish start for the Rams, who quickly trailed by six points. However, Evans and Sinegal sparked a resurgence, fueling a 15-point halftime lead, 44-29. The Rams extended their advantage to as many as 17 points early in the second half.

Momentum shifted around the nine-minute mark as the Trailblazers amped up defensive pressure and drew crucial fouls, outscoring the Rams 42-27 in the second half. In the closing moments of regulation, Evans nailed a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game and force overtime.

In the extra period, the Rams struggled to generate offensive rhythm. A late layup by the Trailblazers sealed their 76-75 victory with just two seconds remaining.

The Rams will next play the University of Arts & Science of Oklahoma on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. on the road.
