Rams make first appearance in NAIA Football Championship Series

FORT WORTH, TX - The Texas Wesleyan Rams will face the Benedictine Ravens on Saturday in the second round of the NAIA Football National Championship Series, pitting two of the nation's top programs against one another.

Texas Wesleyan enters confidently after a perfect 10-0 regular season after a 63-42 season-closing victory over Louisiana Christian. The Rams' offense, led by Ernest Ceasar, who set an NAIA record with 39 single-season touchdowns, has been nothing short of dynamic. Ceasar scored last week on a 51-yard run to seal the win. Quarterback Carson Rodgers also shined, throwing two key fourth-quarter touchdowns, while the defense and special teams delivered clutch plays.

Benedictine also boasts impressive momentum, coming off a record-breaking 86-0 win over William Woods. The Ravens set program marks for points scored and rushing yards allowed while quarterback Jackson Dooley broke the school's single-season passing touchdown record with 34. Special teams made an impact, with a blocked punt touchdown and a 98-yard kickoff return. The defense recorded five sacks, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles in a dominant effort.

Saturday's game will feature a battle of strengths, with Texas Wesleyan's high-powered offense taking on Benedictine's disciplined defense. The Rams will look to establish their ground game early, while the Ravens aim to control the tempo and capitalize on turnovers.

Special teams could also be pivotal, as both have game-changing capabilities in that phase.

With a spot in the NAIA semifinals on the line, this matchup promises to be intense. Texas Wesleyan will count on home-field advantage and a raucous crowd, while Benedictine, accustomed to big-stage games, seeks to spoil the Rams' perfect season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Crowley Multi-Purpose Stadium, and fans can expect a thrilling contest between two championship-caliber teams.
