WSOC: Rams Fall 3-0 to MACU in Quarterfinals of SAC Tournament

NORMAN. OK - The Texas Wesleyan  Women's soccer season concluded in the quarterfinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Mid-America Christian University on November 5.  

Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Rams (4-11-3) were outpaced by the Evangels (14-2-2) at the CCS Sports Complex.

MACU came out strong, scoring early, with Annika Gerdau netting her third goal of the season in just the third minute, assisted by Francesca Martella.

Shortly after, the Rams were dealt an unfortunate blow as an own goal in the fifth minute extended MACU's lead to 2-0. The Evangels capped their scoring in the 32nd minute when Brae Baker tallied her 14th goal of the season off an assist from Gerdau, solidifying a 3-0 advantage by halftime.

MACU's offense maintained relentless pressure throughout the match, outshooting Texas Wesleyan 21-9, with 11 shots on target. Texas Wesleyan's goalkeeper made an impressive eight saves to keep the Lady Rams in contention, but the Rams struggled to generate scoring opportunities, managing only one shot on goal.

The Evangels controlled the tempo, recording nine corner kicks to Texas Wesleyan's single attempt, and led in fouls, 12-4
