Box Score PLAINVIEW, TX - After an impressive first quarter, the Texas Wesleyan Women's basketball team fell behind in the second quarter and failed to battle back in a 84-55 loss to Wayland Baptist University Thursday evening.  
 
After the first quarter of action the Rams would hold a small 20-19 lead over the Flying Queens inside of the Hutcherson Center. Wayland Baptist dig their way out of the early hole after going a mini run to take a 27-21 lead. The Rams began to struggle on the offensive side of the ball, as the Flying Queens were able to attack the basket and outscore the Rams 22-9 in the quarter.
 
Trailing 29-41 to start the second half, the Rams were unable to slow down the Flying Queens in the as Wayland Baptist would continue to extend the lead. The Rams went on to suffer a tough 84-55 defeat to a very good Wayland Baptist team.
 
Savanna Smith would finish with 16 points and Mary Nyakundi would ass 10 points in the loss.
 
Next up for the Rams is a trip to Goodwell, OK where they will take on the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University in a Sooner Athletic Conference game. Tip is scheduled for Saturday, January 10^th at 2:00 PM.
