OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - On Thursday, Texas Wesleyan faced off against Mid-America Christian in the opening round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament falling 79-56.  

After a competitive first half, the Rams struggled in the second half, allowing Mid-America Christian to secure a substantial lead. Adetokunbo Bakare led Texas Wesleyan's offensive efforts with 20 points, making 6 out of 15 field goals, including 2 three-pointers. Kipplyn Richvine contributed 10 points, while Isaiah Marin added 6 points for the team.

The team's overall performance saw a decline in the second half, with a lower field goal percentage of 30.43% and three-point percentage of 18.18%. They concluded the game with a field goal percentage of 37.8%, a three-point percentage of 26.3%, and a free throw percentage of 73.9%. Texas Wesleyan faced challenges in turnovers, with 15 compared to Mid-America Christian's 9.

The Evangels Magok Manyang led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Aditional scoring came from Jasiah Lewis (14 points), Seth Hurd (14 points), and DeAngelo Adkins (11 points). Mid-America Christian demonstrated consistency in both halves, finishing the game with a field goal percentage of 47.5%, a three-point percentage of 28.0%, and a free throw percentage of 72.7%.

The loss brings the Rams season to a close with the team finishing the season with an overall record of 12-17 with a 10-12 record in conference play.
