Fort Worth, TX – The Texas Wesleyan Volleyball team returned home for a conference match and delivered a sweep over John Brown University inside of the Sid Richardson Center.

John brown came into the gym fired up to take on the defending 2023 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Champions in front of their home crowd.
The start of the contest would see the two teams going on mini runs as neither squad could pull away. Late in the set,
Hanna Rubis would put down a ball to give the Rams the slight edge at 21-19. After time out Texas Wesleyan would close out the set on another mini run to win 25-20.
Behind some impressive serving from freshman
Ruby Rumohr the Rams held an early 9-5 lead in set 2 . The rams would be the first to hit 15 points and would cruise to a 25-17 set win.
Down 2-0 the Golden Eagles would take the early 5-1 lead over the Rams. Much like the first set the Rams would go on a series of runs to keep the set close as John Brown looked to force a fourth set. Late down the stretch Texas Wesleyan would come up big with back to back blocks to take a 22-18 lead. The Rams would close on the game another small to win the match with a 25-20 victory.

The Rams had a hitting percentage of .241 behind 44 kills with 18 errors.
Texas Wesleyan will be back in action tomorrow, September 14, at 1 pm to take on the College of the Ozarks in a SAC match up.
