BB: Texas Wesleyan Completes Sweep of Bethany College with Dominant 12-2 Victory

FORT WORTH, TX — Texas Wesleyan University (3-0) completed a three-game sweep of Bethany College (0-3) on Saturday with a commanding 12-2 win at Sycamore Park.

The Rams showcased offensive depth and efficient pitching to remain undefeated.

Texas Wesleyan opened the scoring early, plating two runs in the first inning. Ryan Flores scored on a fielder's choice, and Brandon Rincones scored on a sacrifice fly from Rody Garcia. The Rams added another run in the second when Austin Hubbell scored on a wild pitch, giving Texas Wesleyan a 3-0 lead.

The offense erupted again in the fifth inning. Brendon Vela's two-RBI single drove in Flores and Idelfonso Garcia, while Logan Silvertooth followed with an RBI single to cap a three-run inning.

Bethany College responded with two runs in the sixth, courtesy of an RBI double by Will Sanchez and an RBI single by Carter Crayton. However, the Rams quickly countered, with Rincones singling home Flores in the bottom half of the inning.

Texas Wesleyan sealed the win in the eighth with a four-run outburst. Rody Garcia delivered a bases-clearing triple, driving in three runs to extend the lead to 12-2. Garcia finished the game with three RBIs, while Rincones, Vela, and Hubbell each added key contributions.

Sutton Tidwell earned the win for the Rams, pitching four shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out two. Samuel Mendez and Jacob Guzman combined for four strong innings in relief, striking out seven and surrendering just two runs.

Bethany's Christian Gonzalez took the loss, allowing four runs in four innings of work.

The Rams will look to continue their strong start when they return to action next week with a three-game series starting at noon on Friday in Sycamore.
