SILOAM SPRINGS — Texas Wesleyan University (9-10-0) was outshot 19-6 and couldn't overcome a pair of second-half strikes from Amaury Jarry as they fell 3-1 to John Brown University (11-3-4) in the Sooner Athletic Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday.

Texas Wesleyan tied it briefly at 1-1 in the 55th minute when Fabricio Martinez netted his fourth goal of the season off assists from Louis Guffroy and Rudy Gonzalez. But John Brown pulled away late at Alumni Field, with Jarry scoring in the 75th and 87th minutes for his sixth and seventh goals of the year.

The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the 49th minute when Alejandro Gallardo headed home his seventh goal of the season on a feed from Constantin Bauer. Jarry's first tally came off a Steven Cisneros assist, and his second was set up by Ransford Okyere and Andres Pereira.

Axel Tonietto made seven saves for Texas Wesleyan, which had three corner kicks in each half but managed only two shots on goal. Adam Tebbs needed just one save for John Brown, which held a 5-3 edge in corners and committed 15 fouls to the Rams' eight.

Texas Wesleyan's Jesus Rodriguez drew a yellow card in the 17th minute, while John Brown's Atim Roper and Andres Pereira were cautioned in the 23rd and 49th minutes, respectively.

The game will conclude the season for the Rams.
