FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Wesleyan University (23-6, 20-2) swept Oklahoma Panhandle State University (15-14, 13-9) in straight sets, winning 25-16, 25-23, 25-15, at Sid Richardson Center on Saturday. The Rams' attack was led by a team hitting percentage of .303, bolstered by 17 kills in the second set.
In the first set. Texas Wesleyan opened the match against the Aggies by overcoming an initial 3-0 deficit. The home team quickly found its rhythm with
Lyric Biggiers and
Sydney Alexander each contributing significant kills, allowing the Rams to level the score at 3-3. A series of errors by Oklahoma gave Texas Wesleyan the opportunity to extend their lead to 5-3. As the set progressed, Texas Wesleyan maintained control, with
Ruby Rumohr assisting
Victoria Smith and
Hanna Rubis on critical kills. The home team capitalized on the Aggies' errors, building a 19-11 advantage. Despite a brief rally from Oklahoma, Texas Wesleyan closed the first set decisively with a 25-16 score, highlighted by strong performances from
