Despite the Rams' 34 rebounds and 17 points from the bench, they were unable to overcome 16 turnovers and Southwestern Christian's 13 three-pointers.

Texas Wesleyan opened play by responding to an early deficit with efficient shooting from beyond the arc, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Kyla Speights at 6:08, which narrowed the gap to 8-5. The team continued to press with a balanced offense, as Payton Foster and Sophia Hurtado each contributed key 3-pointers, keeping the score close throughout the quarter. Despite a late 3-pointer from Jenae Moore pulling the Rams within one point with 30 seconds remaining, Southwestern Christian ended the quarter with a 3-pointer in the final seconds.
