In the games today, the Eagles took game one in a close one with a score of 2-1. In game two, the Rams rallied back with a 4-1 victory.
In game one, the entire game was a pitchers' duel as
Abbie Bird held the Eagles at bay throughout the entire game. The first run of the game wasn't brought across until the bottom of the sixth as the Eagles drove one across with an RBI single. The Rams then answered right back with their own RBI single from
Haylie Delarosa to bring
Kadynce Crenshaw home. The Eagles ended up winning on a bases loaded RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
Bird was given the loss on the day as she allowed seven hits in six innings pitched, the loss brings her season record to 10-7, her third loss in a row.
In game two, the game had a change of pace as both teams scored early to get everything started. The Rams got everything started in the top of the first with RBI singles from
EB Zimmerman and
Jaelin Ornelas to lift the Rams up 2-0. In the Bottom of that same inning, the Eagles had an answer of their own with another RBI single to end the first inning in favor of the Rams 2-1.
The Rams wouldn't score again until the third inning that started with a bang as
Ashley Darilek crushed a home run, her second of the year. Later that inning, Bird drove an RBI single through the infield to bring home
Kylie Barnes to increase the Rams lead to 4-1.
Barnes only allowed two hits after the second inning, shutting down any chance of the Eagles hope of a comeback, she kept the batters off balance and had a solid defense to back her up to make sure they would come out victorious.
Barnes was given the win after throwing a complete game and only allowing five hits, the win raises Barnes' season record to 10-7.
Another standout player was Delarosa as she had two multi-hit games, going 5-7 with one RBI and one run of her own.
The Rams return to action with another doubleheader against the Eagles on Friday at 12pm and 2pm.
