FORT WORTH, Texas - Texas Wesleyan Athletics has named Makena Junkin, of Women's Golf, and Football's Ian Jernagin the Texas Wesleyan Athletes of the Month for the month of September.

Junkin won both the Texas Intercollegiate and the Northwest Iowa Invitational, increasing her career win total to 12, a current program record. Junkin was named SAC Player of the week after finishing the Texas Intercollegiate with five-under par and three stroke lead over second place to take home her first win of the season. The following week she was named not only the SAC Player of the week, but once again received recognition as the NAIA player of the week with a 14-under par performance at the Northwest Iowa Invitational.

Jernagin was a huge piece of the Rams offense in September as he led the team in rushing with 224 yards on 32 carries and added five touchdowns. His 13 carries for 118 yards and two touchdown performance against conference rival Nelson University lifted the Rams to 2-0 in conference. His 9.07 yards per rush mark is the best of his Ram career as well. Jernagin led all Rams in touchdowns in the month of September with five.
