FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Wesleyan (9-14, 5-12) fell to Southwestern Christian (9-12, 6-11), 50-47, despite leading by as many as 16 points in the third quarter. Southwestern Christian capitalized on 22 turnovers by Texas Wesleyan to secure the victory.
Texas Wesleyan started the first quarter with a strong offensive push, quickly establishing a lead with effective perimeter shooting. The team made five of nine attempts from beyond the arc, with
Nala Richardson contributing a significant jumper to extend the lead to 11 points midway through the quarter.

Peyton Foster each added assists to keep the momentum in the Lady Rams' favor. Southwestern Christian managed to stay in contention with three successful 3-pointers, but the Rams' defense and rebounding efforts kept the Eagles from closing the gap significantly. As the quarter closed,
Kameryn Phillips scored a layup in the paint, helping the home team maintain a seven-point advantage. The quarter ended with Texas Wesleyan leading 19-12.
Texas Wesleyan began the second quarter with a strong push, highlighted by Richardson's early 3-pointer assisted by Holmes. They capitalized on defensive pressure, with
Sophia Hurtado and Holmes each securing a steal in the opening minute. This momentum was bolstered by a layup from Richardson and a pair of free throws from Phillips, pushing the home team's lead to 13 points at the 7:04 mark. As the quarter progressed, the Rams maintained their defensive intensity, with Foster and Hurtado each contributing a block. Despite turnovers, the home team continued to control the pace, with Richardson adding a jumper late in the quarter. Southwestern Christian opened the fourth quarter with a strong defensive pressure that resulted in multiple turnovers by Texas Wesleyan. In the closing seconds, Texas Wesleyan's attempt to retake the lead was thwarted, as a missed layup led to two successful free throws by Southwestern Christian, setting the final score at 50–47 in favor of the visitors.
Phillips scored 14 points and added six rebounds, with five coming from the offensive board. Richardson contributed 12 points and collected seven rebounds. Hurtado tallied eight points and recorded two blocks. Foster made two 3-pointers, accounting for all six of her points.
