KANSAS CITY, MO - Texas Wesleyan (20-3) secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Missouri Valley on Friday at the Plaza Tennis Center, before narrowly losing to William Woods University (MO) 4-3 later that day in the semifinal match of the Heart of America Conference Tournament.

In the match against Missouri Valley, the Rams clinched the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Kaja Brunzlow and Carla Arce Fernandez won decisively at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, against Adriana Barrios and Queralt Carbo of Missouri Valley. The tandem of Shelby Standokes and Mica Magday clinched the doubles point at No. 3 doubles by default, as Missouri Valley did not field players.

In singles, Texas Wesleyan extended their lead with Carla Arce Fernandez delivering a straight-sets victory at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-2, over Adriana Barrios. Zep Ege added another point with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Queralt Carbo at No. 1 singles. The match was clinched at No. 2 singles where Paulina Hudson secured a 6-1, 6-5 victory over Kelia Liebenberg.
