Prior to Wesleyan: Redshirted two seasons for head coach Tom Arrington at San Jacinto College-North...SJC went 92-21 during those two seasons and finished as the NJCAA Divisoin I National Runner-up in 2010.

High School: An Honorable Mention All-District 9-5A selection for coach David Allen at Plano Senior High School...hit .327 with 2 HR's and a team-high 17 RBI as a senior...also lettered two seasons in football as a wide receiver at PSH.

Personal: Born Patrick Melton on Jun. 21, 1987, in Dallas, TX...son of Ken Melton and Donna Irby and Beverly Young...has two sisters, Vanessa and Lisa...is majoring in liberal studies.
