Brian White

Brian White is a 2008 South Grand Prairie High School graduate, where he is the all-time and single-season doubles record holder. After high school, Brian attended Texas Wesleyan University, where he graduated in 2013 with a degree in Exercise Science. During White’s senior season at Wesleyan, the Rams fell one game short of reaching the NAIA College World Series, losing to the World Series champions Faulkner in the regional tournament. Brian earned 1st Team All-Conference catcher, 1st Team Gold Glove, and the Champions of Character award that season. White was later named to the All-Decade team for Texas Wesleyan University. Following his collegiate career, he played two seasons for the Fort Worth Cats before joining the coaching ranks.

White started his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Rams in 2014. He also coached at Clarendon College and Eastfield College before moving to the Independent Baseball level. White appeared with the Florence Freedom in the Frontier League in 2015. As the bullpen coach during 2015 and part of 2016, Brian White primarily focused on developing catchers. Halfway through 2016, Brian took over as Freedom’s pitching coach and saw the team ERA drop over a full run on the season. White served as the pitching coach in Florence through the 2019 season, where his staff had a 3.85 ERA over the 3.5 years, never getting over a 4.00 in any season, and the Florence Freedom made two championship series appearances during his tenure. During that same period, Florence’s pitching staff saw 13 arms signed to affiliated contracts (most in the Frontier League), and nine pitchers make the All-Star roster. White was named Manager for Florence after the 2019 season. During Brian’s first year as a manager, he saw Florence lead the league with a 57-38 record. White managed for three seasons before coming back home to DFW. During his tenure, twenty-three players signed affiliated contracts.

White currently co-owns Cover All Bases in Arlington, Texas, with his business partner Cameron Monger, and he is very excited to return to his alma mater to coach once again. He resides in Irving with his fiancée Stephanie and their dog Harper.
