Paul Duckworth is entering his seventh season in 2023 as Defensive Coordinator for the Rams. Duckworth brings an extensive resume both as a coach and player to Texas Wesleyan.   He coached for 15 seasons with Prud’homme at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, serving as Associate Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Strength & Conditioning Coach. At Nolan Catholic, he helped the Vikings to nine State Championship Games including victories in 2004, ’05, ’08, ’09, ‘11, ‘12, and ‘13.   Duckworth was a 6th-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in 1994 out of the University of Connecticut. He later played for the Connecticut Coyotes of the Arena Football League in 1996. As a linebacker at UCONN he was a team captain and led the team in tackles as a senior in 1993. In 1998, the Huskies celebrated 100 years of football and named Duckworth to their All-Time Team.   Duckworth was also a legendary high school player in Connecticut. As a guard and defensive tackle at Danbury High School, he was named All-State, AAA Player of the Year, and was a USA Today Honorable Mention All-American. He is a member of the Danbury Hall of Fame and was named to the “Best of the Best” High School Players by the Connecticut Post in 1998.   Prior to joining Prud’homme at Nolan Catholic, Duckworth was an Assistant Defensive Coordinator for defensive ends and running backs at Bloomfield High School in Connecticut. During his tenure, Bloomfield went 47-0 and won State Championships in 1997, ’98, ’99, and ’00. At the same time, he coached JV and freshman basketball at Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT.   Duckworth currently resides in Hurst with his wife, Maria, son Marcus, and two daughters, Maya and Maddie.
