A former All-American at Texas Wesleyan, Brian Wanamaker is in his second season (2025-26) as an head coach for the Rams.
In his first season at the helm, Wanamaker led the Rams to a 19-11 record with an NAIA National Tournament berth. The Rams finished sixth in the Sooner Athletic Conference and were one of four teams to make the national tournament. In the conference, the Rams finished first in rebounding, and second in defense and field goal percentage.
After an extensive professional playing career, Wanamaker returned to Texas Wesleyan in 2019-20 and helped guide the Rams to back-to-back NAIA Tournament qualifications, giving the program a string of five tournament appearances in the last six seasons.
Wanamaker played his junior and senior seasons at Texas Wesleyan, twice earning All-Red River Athletic Conference honors and twice leading the team to the NAIA National Tournament. In 2010-11 was named RRAC Player of the Year and became just the third Ram to earn 1st-team NAIA All-American honors after averaging 19.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. In two seasons he scored 1,046 points, becoming the 17th member of Texas Wesleyan's 1,000 Point Club.
Following his graduation, Wanamaker was drafted into the NBA D-League and went on to play six seasons in various European professional leagues.
