Biography

2010-11: Became just the second Ram to earn All-American recognition in all four years, joining TWU and NAIA Hall of Famer Danny Mijovic (1980-83)...earned 1st-team accolades for the second season in a row and was also named NAIA Ping 1st-team All-American...set the school’s single season scoring average record at 72.62 this year...ranks sixth at Texas Wesleyan in career scoring average at 73.92. In eleven events, notched six top-five finishes including two victories, both on the same course (South Padre Island Golf Course), winning UT-Brownsville’s Sen. Eddie Lucio Invitational and the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament...shot the second best round in program history and low round of his career, 65, in the first round of the UTA-Waterchase Invitational on his way to a third place finish.

2009-10: Missed only one varsity event...posted the second best scoring average in school history at 72.769 and was named 1st-team All-American...had five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in eleven events...fired the low round of his career thus far, 66, in the first round of the UST/Mamiya Texas Intercollegiate and finished tied for fourth...shot a round of 67 in the final round of the NAIA National Championship to finish tied for third.

2008-09: Missed only one varsity event...named to the Ping NAIA All-American 3rd-team...ranked fourth on the team with a 75.31 scoring average...notched three top-5 and four top-20 finishes...had his best performances in postseason: tied for 5th in the RRAC Championship and finished 2nd in the NAIA National Championship... was three shots off the lead at the NAIA National Championship after shooting a season best 69 in each of the last two rounds.

2007-08: Played in 11 varsity events as a freshman...named 2nd-team All-American...finished third in the Rattler Invitational after firing a season-low 68 in round two...tied for fifth at the UST Texas Intercollegiate at +1 145...was the RRAC medalist at -1 215, which was also good for 7th in the Region VI Championship... finished tied for 69th (311) at the NAIA National Championship.

High School: Won the 4A-1 Region and State Championships at Rincon High School in Tucson, AZ, in his senior year...named Tucson Citizen Player of the Year and 1st-team All-State.

Personal: Born Armando Villarreal on Oct. 24, 1988, in Los Mochis, Mexico...son of Armando and Rosalina Villarreal...has one brother, Alejandro, and one sister, Rosalina...is majoring in finance.
