Paul Norris is entering his eighth season (2021-22) at Texas Wesleyan after joining the coaching staff in the 2014-15 season. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of the golf team from 1981-85 under Coaches O.D. Bounds and Bobby Cornett. During his career at Wesleyan Paul was a four-year letterman and team captain in his senior year and in 1983 won the Southwestern Recreational Invitational.
Having turned professional in 1990 Paul has spent most of the last 30 years as an instructor at private golf clubs in California and Texas and is a member of the PGA of America. His teaching accomplishments include seven students who have earned “most improved” awards at their respective clubs and a two-time Texas State High School Girls Champion.
As a professional tournament player Norris finished fourth in the Player of the Year race on the Lone Star Tour, now the All Pro Tour, in 1994, has competed in eleven PGA of America National Championships, 10 events on the Web.com Tour and the 2012 Valero Texas Open on the PGA Tour. He won the Northern Texas PGA Metro Assistant’s Championship in 2008 and the Northern Texas Senior Championship in 2015 and 2016.
