Gaspar Martinez

Gaspar Martinez begins his first season as head men's soccer coach at Texas Wesleyan after serving six seasons as an assistant coach.  He also currently serves as the director of coaching for the Texas Development Academy.

 

During his tenure as an assistant coach Martinez has helped the Rams to a 64-53-9 record and their first Red River Athletic Conference Championship in 2005.

 

Martinez has had previous coaching experience as an assistant at Richland College from 2001-02.  In the prep ranks, he was an assistant at Nolan Catholic High School and junior high head coach at Fort Worth Country Day School.  He was also a head coach in the Dallas Texans South Soccer Club for seven seasons and was the director of development for Legend Soccer Club from 1993-98.

 

He currently resides in Arlington with his wife, Sheila, and their two sons, Aidan and Julien.
