Matt Pitcock enters his second year as Head Coach (2025) for Texas Wesleyan men’s soccer.
In his first year, he led the Rams to a 10-6-3 record and finished fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference. He also coached one of the six NAIA All-American athletes in Texas Wesleyan men’s soccer history in Mathis Guffroy.
Prior to his time at Texas Wesleyan, he was a coach at his alma mater Hardin-Simmons University. Pitcock was an assistant coach from 2016 to 2020 and then was promoted to associate head coach from 2021 to 2023. During his time as a coach with the program, the Cowboys made the ASC tournament every year. In 2021 Pitcock was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 under 30.
Before his coaching career, Pitcock played at Hardin-Simmons, he was named as team captain and was named to the All-ASC team in 2012 and 2014 in which he also won the ASC tournament MVP. He was also selected to the All-Region team those same years. After his collegiate career, Pitcock took his talents overseas to Switzerland to play for FC Bern in Erste Liga. He also had trials with FC Jammerbugt of Denmark, FC Nordsjaelland of Denmark, and spent summers training with BK Hacken of Sweden, Odder IGF of Denmark, and FC Koniz of Switzerland.
Pitcock graduated from Hardin-Simmons with a bachelor’s in economics and business administration, he also minored in exercise science. After completing his bachelors, he went back to receive his master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
