High School: A four-year letter winner for coach John Mark Edwards at John B. Connally High School...named 1st-team All-District while leading the team to the Region 25-5A finals as a senior...helped JBCHS to the Regional Quarterfinals as a junior.

Personal: Born Gabriel Torres on Jan. 12, 1991…son of Obdulio and Nora Torres…has one brother, Jose…is majoring in business management.
