Biography
2010: Started all 19 games in her first season with the Lady Rams...recorded three goals and two assists for eight points from the back line...named 1st-team All-RRAC after leading the defense to a school record 1.05 GAA to go with seven shutouts...scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Ouachita Baptist (9/4)...also scored in a 7-0 win over the University of the Southwest (10/24).
Prior to Wesleyan: Played in 10 games, including three starts, for head coach George Van Linder at Stephen F. Austin State University…helped the Ladyjacks to a 10-8-2 record in 2009…was the first signee on the inaugural Tyler Junior College women's soccer team...started all 17 games for a TJC team that finished the season ranked 15th nationally...earned Team Captain and All-Conference recognition at TJC.
High School: A three-year letter winner for Coach Jones at Whitehouse High School...twice selected to both the All-District and All-East Texas teams...helped WHS to the State quarterfinals as a junior and finals as a senior...also a four-year letter winner, three-time Team Captain, three-time All-East Texas selection, two-time All-District selection, and All-Region selection in basketball...named Defensive Player of the Year in basketball as a senior.
Personal: Born Kayla Mason on Oct. 6, 1989, in Tyler, TX…daughter of Mike and Jill Mason…has one sister, Kristen…is majoring in education.
