Chardonae Fuqua’ is in her fourth season (2020-21) as assistant women’s basketball coach.
In her three seasons, the Rams have produced two All-American performances as well as seven All-Conference selections.
Fuqua’ brings a wealth of experience with a distinguished playing career at Baylor University. She played in 102 games in her four year career at Baylor, helping the Bears to four Big 12 regular season championships, four league tournament championships, one NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance, and three Elite Eights. She was also named First Team Academic All-Big 12 three straight seasons (2014-16). The 6-0 forward graduated in three years to start post-graduate work in sports management her final season. Fuqua’ worked as a graduate assistant for Baylor Vision, the school’s on-site sport broadcasting team. While with Baylor Vision, she did sideline reporting, shooting, editing, covering live events for football and basketball games.
Fuqua’ had a prolific high school career, excelling in track and basketball. She attended Murrah High School in Jackson, Miss. where she helped the Mustangs basketball team to a state championship before transferring to Hoover High School in Alabama, where she led the Buccaneers basketball team to a pair of state championships. She also won two state track team titles, while earning three individual state titles in the high jump, setting school records in the event (5’9” Outdoor, 5’7” Indoor).
Fuqua’ holds a bachelor of science in corporate speech communication and a master’s in sport management from Baylor University.
