Brittany Mitchell, a native of San Diego, California, joins Texas Wesleyan University as an Assistant Coach for the Beach Volleyball team in her first year. Mitchell brings a wealth of experience and a strong playing background in beach and indoor volleyball.

Mitchell began her collegiate career at Palomar College, where she excelled on the beach and the court from 2015-2017. She was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 and served as Palomar’s No. 1 duo in beach volleyball. In 2017, she placed 2nd in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) and 3rd in the CCCAA State Individual Beach Volleyball Championships.

Mitchell transferred to the University of Saint Katherine in 2018, earning a double scholarship for both beach and indoor volleyball. Playing under Hall of Famers and Olympic gold medalists Karolyn Kirby and Mary Jo Peppler, she captained the indoor team for two seasons and led the team in assists in 2018. Her beach volleyball success continued as she remained undefeated in 2018, and in 2019, she took first place at the BVNE tournament. She was named Defensive Player of the Year in both sports at Saint Katherine.

Mitchell graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in History and Psychology. Mitchell is pursuing a Master's in Kinesiology focusing on Sports Management.
