2015-16: Twice named SAC Athlete of the Week in track & field.
XC: Competed in seven varsity events as a freshman...set PR at the SAC Championship with 5K time of 19:39.5 to place 16th...best finish was 7th with a time of 20:04.2 at UTA's Gerald Richey Invitational.
Indoor: Competed in three varsity events running the 3000m and 5000m...set PR in both events with 3000m 10:49.11 and 5000m 18:38.14 at Pittsburg State's Gorilla Classic...won the 5000m at the Missouri Southern State Lion Indoor Open with a time of 18:40.66.
Outdoor: Competed in seven varsity events, running the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m...named SAC Athlete of the Week after placing 5th in th 5000m (18:44.70) and 7th in the 1500m (5:02.49) at the Southwestern Invitational...named SAC Athlete of the Week after placing third in the 5000m with a time of 19:02.28 at the TSU Relays...PR's were: 2:29.30 in the 800m to place 7th at the UIW Cardinal Classic, 5:01.37 in the 1500m to place 23rd at UTS's Bobby Lane Invitational, and 18:40.13 to place 24th at Rice's Victor Lopez Classic.
High School: Ran for Coach Smith at Lamar High School...two-time regional qualifier in cross country...area qualifier in the 1600m and 3200m as a senior.
Personal: Born Maria Galarza on December 15, 1996, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico...daughter of Isaias Hernandez and Maria Galarza...has two brothers, Christopher and Isaias, and one sister, Valeria...is majoring in education.
