Kayla Doherty begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Lady Rams after starting for the team from 2009-10.

During her playing career, Doherty led the Lady Rams to an overall record of 27-12. One of the strongest defenders the program has ever seen, she was a two-time 1st-team All-RRAC selection. In 2009, her Rams set school records with nine shutouts, 80 goals, and 206 points while allowing a 1.24 goals against average. In 2010, her defensive line posted seven more shutouts and set a school record with a 1.05 goals against average. From her defensive possition, Doherty scored five goals and added two assists. For her effort, she also earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Doherty also played two seasons at Lynn University for head coach Rocky Orezolli, helping the Knights to 18 wins. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she played at Bishop Grandin High School for coach Luigi Desomma.
