Aminah Orozco

Coach Orozco enters her second season as head coach of Texas Wesleyan University’s volleyball program. In her inaugural year with the Rams, she guided the team to a 25-9 record, clinching the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) tournament title and securing a berth in the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament.

Orozco previously served as Assistant Coach and Director of Operations at the University of North Texas during the 2023 season. Helping guide the team to the NIT tournament in their first season of play in the American Conference.

Before joining UNT, Orozco made history at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO), where she became the winningest coach in program history after winning 23 times in two seasons. Under her leadership, the Drovers achieved record-breaking seasons, including a program-best 14 wins in 2021, and earned consecutive appearances in the SAC tournament. Her tenure saw four players receive all-conference honors.

Orozco’s coaching expertise extends beyond the collegiate level. As club director and head coach at El Paso True Grit Volleyball Club in El Paso, Texas, she cultivated one of the city’s few boys’ volleyball teams and mentored athletes across multiple sports, including basketball, soccer, and volleyball. With over a decade of coaching experience, she holds a Vertimax certification, therefore enhancing her ability to train athletes for peak performance.

As a player, Orozco earned all-conference honors at Vernon College and Saint Gregory’s University, where she graduated in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
