Marissa Rangel

Marissa Rangel joined the coaching staff as a student-assistant for Volleyball and Softball in 2012 and an assistant coach for Volleyball in 2013.

Rangel played for two seasons (2010-2011) for the Lady Rams. As a senior, she was an honorable mention All-RRAC selection and was ranked fourth in the conference in total digs after leading the team with 454. As a junior, Rangeld was named second team All-RRAC after ranking third in the RRAC and first on the team in total digs (456).

Rangel recorded 40 digs in a RRAC Tournament match with SAGU (11/12/10), marking the first time a Lady Ram collected 40 or more digs since 2007.

Rangel also played softball at Texas Wesleyan.  She was a two-time All-Conference selection and helped the team to a conference championship and an NAIA National Tournament appearance.  She is the school's single season (.463 - 2011) and career (.422) record holder in batting average.

Prior to her playing days at Wesleyan, Rangel was a two-time first team All-South Coast Conference selection at Pasadena City College. As a freshman, Rangel set the school record in total digs (322), and came close to tying her own record as a sophomore with 314 digs.
