Jared is entering his fourth season as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s wrestling programs.
Jared has been involved as a wrestler and a coach for over 30 years, beginning his journey at the age of 4 wrestling for his father, legendary Hall of Fame coach John Haberman in La Junta, Colorado. Jared has been fortunate to be coached by the best in the sport and loves to give back to his wrestlers and his community. While competing, Jared was a 4x HS Colorado State Champion. Although, arguably the #1 recruit in the country in 2000, Jared decided to continue his education and wrestling at Western Colorado University. He was a 4x All-American and 2x Finalist (NCAA II) for the Mountaineers under the leadership of legendary coach Miles Van Hee, finishing 5th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st in 2004, with an impressive run in his senior campaign, outscoring his opponents 54-4 at the National Championship with three technical falls and a major decision.
Prior to joining Texas Wesleyan in its inaugural season, Jared ran the Texas Edition of Mile High Wrestling Club.
Jared’s wrestling accolades are numerous, including his induction into 4 separate Hall of Fame classes. Colorado Wrestling HOF 2x (High School and College), Western Colorado University HOF & La Junta High School HOF.
Jared also has a full-time career outside of wrestling working in the financial sector in Westlake, TX. Jared currently resides in Fort Worth with his Family, Shannon, Marissa & JaeLynne
