Dylan Pettway enters his first season (2026) with Texas Wesleyan as the Tight Ends Coach.
A former standout linebacker at Texas Wesleyan University Athletics, Coach Pettway was a four-time All-Conference selection and a key contributor to the program’s 2022 SAC Championship team. During his playing career at Texas Wesleyan, he established himself as one of the program’s most consistent defensive leaders through his toughness, preparation, and leadership on and off the field.
Following graduation, Pettway continued his football career at the professional level from 2023–2026. His professional experience included competing internationally in Romania, where he served in the dual role of player and Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator, gaining valuable experience in player development, game planning, and defensive leadership.
Pettway also spent time with the Omaha Beef, helping lead the organization to an undefeated 11-0 season and a National Arena League championship. He later joined the Tulsa Oilers, where he played a significant role in helping the franchise reach the playoffs for the first time in program history.
After a successful professional playing career, Pettway transitioned into coaching, bringing a unique perspective shaped by championship success at the collegiate, professional, and international levels. His experience as both a player and coach, combined with his passion for developing student-athletes, makes him a valuable addition to the Texas Wesleyan football staff.
