Jackye Barber

Jackye Barber is entering her first season (2026) as the Assistant Coach for Texas Wesleyan Beach Volleyball after serving as a coach at Southwest Baptist University for the 2025 season.

Barber comes to Texas Wesleyan with a wealth of experience. She has 16 years of indoor club experience paired with 7 years of beach club coaching. During her time at Southwest Baptist, she made an immediate impact by winning 10 games in her first season, setting a record for wins in a season. Before her collegiate coaching role, she was the owner and director of the Amarillo Good Vibes Volleyball Club, where she successfully managed and grew both the indoor and beach programs. Under her leadership, the club saw consistent success. Every year since starting a beach program in Amarillo, Barber has had multiple teams qualify for beach nationals, with many placing in the top 10 in different divisions.

Prior to her coaching career, Barber played volleyball at Frank Phillips College where she served as the teams middle hitter and libero. She also helped lead her team to two NJCAA National Tournaments where her teams finished 4th and 11th in the nation.

Beyond the court, Barber currently resides in the area with her son, Tayden, and daughter, Teegan.
