 Fort Worth, Texas- The Texas Wesleyan volleyball team continued conference play Friday night to a loud crowd at the Sid Richardson Center as they played host to the University of St. Thomas. The Lady Rams were looking to keep their perfect winning streak alive in conference play but fell short as they lost 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 18,25, 25-23, 15-12), to St. Thomas.
 
After dropping the first set of the night, the Lady Rams showed their resilience as the squad bounced back to win a tight second set. The momentum kept going for Texas Wesleyan as they had control most of the third set to pull out to a comfortable lead mid-way through to win the set.
 
The momentum the Lady Rams gained seemed to falter as the team lost some of the control to lose the fourth set and was unable to overcome the battle in the fifth to lose the match.
 
Stephanie Biediger contributed 18 kills for St. Thomas to help secure the team with the win. Kristen Kubicek produced a solid game with 12 kills and 23 digs.
 
Katie Rosenbusch led the way for the Lady Rams in kills with 15, while Lynsay Buell had 13. Stephanie Dominguez recorded 23 digs for the team.
 
With the loss the Lady Rams fall to 5-1 in conference play and 16-10 overall. The University of St. Thomas improves to 5-1 in conference and 14-9 on the season.
 
Texas Wesleyan looks to rebound when the team hosts Tarleton State University on Tuesday, October 16 at the Sid Richardson Center with the match set to start at 7:00 p.m.
