San Antonio, Texas- The Texas Wesleyan volleyball team traveled to San Antonio, Texas to take on Our Lady of the Lake University Wednesday night for the squad’s last road contest of the season. The Rams fell to the Saints in three consecutive sets (25-19, 27-25, 32-30) falling to a 5-3 record in conference play and 16-13 overall.
After dropping the first set to the Saints, the second and third set stayed even throughout majority of play. In hopes to seal away a second set victory, an attacking error by Claire LaHue of the Saints helped the Lady Rams stay in the match at 25-25. Texas Wesleyan was unable to hold on as Our Lady of the Lake took the next two points with the final point coming from Jordan Latham with a kill.
The third set proved the Lady Rams were not going to go down without a fight as it stayed tight throughout the entirety. Texas Wesleyan eventually fell 32-30 on an attack error from Bailey Bunting. It was the second highest total points in the match this season for the Lady Rams after notching up 32 against Hardin-Simmons University in late September.
Lynsay Buell led the way in kills and attacks for Texas Wesleyan scorching out 11 kills and 17 attacks. Following behind was Katie Rosenbusch with 8 apiece.
Lauren Hutchinson produced 4 digs in the match.
The Lady Rams will play their final two games of the season at home. The Lady Rams will host Texas College for senior night on Friday, November 2
nd. The match is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. at the Sid Richardson Center.
