FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (11-11, 3-1 SAC) won their third straight match with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19) win over Oklahoma City University (9-7, 2-2 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Saturday.

The Lady Rams kept the aggressiveness and momentum from the win last night into the match today on short rest. A Meghan Finley kill got the Rams out to a 6-2 lead early in the first set. The Stars battled back to take a 15-14 lead before Wesleyan put up a 5-0 rally capped by another Finley kill for a 19-15 Lady Ram lead. Alex Hendee gave the Rams the first set with a kill to take a 25-20 win.

Starnisha Bodie put the Lady Rams on top in the second set with a kill, as Texas Wesleyan kept the Stars at bay until late in the set. Oklahoma City forced a couple of errors to get within one point at 23-22. A Hendee kill got the Rams to set point, and a Stars error put the Rams on top 2-0 with a 25-23 second set.

The two teams played a close set in the third until the Stars jumped out to a 17-11 lead with a Meghan Irwin kill. A Torrie Flynn kill gave Oklahoma City set point at 24-18, but a pair of Abigail Zipoy kills cut the lead to 24-21. The Stars closed the set with another Irwin kill for a 25-21 win.

The Lady Rams got down 11-8 in the fourth set, but Wesleyan outscored the Stars 14-5 capped by a Rosenbusch kill from Lauren Hamaker to grab a 22-16 lead. The Lady Rams coasted to a 3-1 match victory with a 25-19 fourth set win

Rosenbusch led all players with 16 kills for a .467 hitting percentage, while adding four block assists and one solo block. Zipoy added a double double with14 kills and 10 digs in the match. Hendee also had a double double posting 10 kills and 14 digs. Stephanie Dominguez also notched a double double with 24 assists and 10 digs in the win.

The Lady Rams will take on Mid-America Christian in Oklahoma City, OK on Tuesday, October 1 starting at 7:30 pm.
