WAXAHACHIE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (2-1) ran away with a 94-32 decision against the University of the Southwest (0-5) at the SAGU Classic on Saturday. At 62 points, the game marked the largest margin of victory in program history.
The previous record was a 61-point 106-45 win over Jarvis Christian on January 30, 1986. Texas Wesleyan has competed in women's basketball since 1970.
All 14 available players saw the floor for the Lady Rams while 11 played double-figure minutes.
Onyesonam Nolisa, who had a career night on Friday with 20 points and 20 rebounds was the only player who did not score on Saturday.
Kashyla Fields led the Rams with a career-high 21 points.
Stacey Darnley added 14 points, and
Carneisha Sims finished with 10.
The Rams outshot the Mustangs 49% - 22% from the floor while holding a whopping 51-33 edge in rebounding. Texas Wesleyan also scored 42 points off of 32 turnovers.
Texas Wesleyan bench, consisting of nine players outscored the two Mustang reserves 58-3.
The Rams are back in action on Sunday in an exhibition game at TCU. That game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
