Â
The women's basketball program honored four seniors for their outstanding hard work and dedication on and off the basketball court.Â
Kashay Barnes, a 5-6 guard from Frederick, MD,Â
Takoia Larry, a 5-9 guard from South Bend, IN,Â
Kayla McCray, a 6-2 center from Watauga, TX, andÂ

Â
The Stars caught the Rams off guard to start, scampering out to a 13-0 lead that ate up over five minutes of game time. A timeout gave Wesleyan a moment to regroup before making a 6-0 run capped by anÂ
Amy Moody jumper to make it 13-6. Another Stars rally gave Oklahoma City a 25-13 cushion with seven minutes to go in the first half, their biggest lead at that point. Texas Wesleyan tried to cut into the lead before the break, but the Stars did not give an inch, taking a 34-19 margin at the half.
Â
The Lady Rams went zero for their first 12 shots from the field in the first half, which is a big reason Wesleyan only shot 27 percent from the field. The Stars posted 56 percent from the field, as it seemed they had the formula for the Lady Ram defense.
Â
Wesleyan cut the lead to a ten-point, 35-25 lead to start the second half on a Larry long range jump shot. Two consecutive three pointers fromÂ
Onyesonam Nolisa and Moody later in the half got the Rams back within striking distance at 41-37. Texas Wesleyan fought tirelessly to keep the Stars from getting inside, playing tough defense. Nolisa made it a three-point game at 47-44 with a tip-in with 6:38 remaining in the game, and the Sid Richardson Center could smell upset. Oklahoma City stayed level-headed though, picking up fouls to get to the lane and converting when it mattered, taking the 60-51 win.
Â
The Lady Rams held Oklahoma City to only 34 percent from the field in the second half, but shot only 34 percent as well. The Stars shot 45 percent for the game, while the Rams finished shooting 31 percent. Wesleyan only converted 16 points out of 25 Oklahoma City turnovers.
Â
Nolisa led Wesleyan with 16 points and nine rebounds. Cooper added 10 points and six boards. Moody finished with nine points and six assists.
Â
The Lady Rams will play the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, OK on Monday, February 24 starting at 6:00 p.m.
