SHAWNEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (12-5, 4-2 SAC) knocked off St. Gregory's University (2-13, 1-5 SAC) 74-45 on Saturday.

The Lady Rams continued their growing trend of great starts with an 8-2 run capped by an
Onyesonam Nolisa jumper. The Cavaliers answered with a pair of three-pointers to tie the game, but Texas Wesleyan posted an 8-0 rally capped by a
Krissy Parker two-point shot for a 16-8 lead with 9:50 left in the first half. Texas Wesleyan maintained a decent lead for the remainder of the half, taking a 31-23 halftime lead.

The Rams once again did a great job of forcing 14 Cavalier turnovers into 17 points. Wesleyan also outscored their opponent in the paint 24-6 in the first half.

The second half started with a bang as
Stacey Darnley hit a triple to start a 13-0 Ram run capped by a
Katelynn Threats jumper to take a 44-34 lead. Stacy Lee hit three-pointer to cut the lead to 19 with 11:08 left in the game, but the Lady Rams never let the lead dip below 20 after that. Texas Wesleyan completely dominated the second half, as a free throw shot sunk by
Angela Nguyen gave the Rams their biggest lead of the night at 72-40. Wesleyan finished the game with a 74-45 victory on the road.

The Lady Rams outshot their opponent from the field 41 percent to 34 percent in the contest, while holding a 46-6 advantage on points in the paint. The Rams won the points off turnover battle 32-0, as Wesleyan had a very efficient game allowing only five turnovers. Texas Wesleyan also controlled the boards, 49-29.

Threats led all players with 17 points and seven rebounds, hitting 8 of12 from the field. Darnley notched 16 points and four steals. Nolisa had 12 points and six boards in the win. Â
Cheyenne Swoopes added eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists in the win.

The Lady Rams will host non-conference opponent Arlington Baptist College on Monday, January 19. Tip-off is set for a 6:00 pm start. Â
