Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Eagles Blank Lady Rams, 2-0

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (8-6-1, 3-4-1 SAC) suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of John Brown University (10-6-1, 6-1-1 SAC) at Martin Field on Thursday.
 
Anne Metz staked the Golden Eagles to the early lead with a goal in the 8th minute.  Later in the 23rd minute, Sara Lachance made it 2-0.
 
A header from Theresa Garstecki in the 63rd minute was Texas Wesleyan's best look at the goal, but JBU goalkeeper Hannah Poor was up to the task.
 
Samantha Weber nearly made it 3-0 in the 66th minute, but Amber Galvan cleared the ball away at the last second to keep the Rams in the game.
 
The effort went for naught however, as Poor (10-5-1) came up with three saves to hold the shutout.  Nikki Lockwood (8-5-1) made 11 saves in the loss.
 
For the game, the Eagles outshot the Rams 24-10 including a 13-3 total in shots on goal.  John Brown also led 9-1 in corner kicks while both teams were assessed 10 fouls each.
 
The Rams are back in action on Halloween, when the host Bacone College in their final regular season contest.  Senior Day festivities will precede a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
 
Ramblings
 
- The Rams are now 14-10-3 all-time in Sooner Athletic Conference play.  John Brown leads the all-time series 5-1-1, while the Rams have the edge on Bacone 10-3-3.
