OKLAHOMA CITY, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (16-15) advanced in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament with a 94 -60 first round win over St. Gregory's University (4-24) at Abe Lemons Arena on Wednesday.

Texas Wesleyan was no doubt ready to play no matter the opponent and never really let up in a big win. In a game where they never trailed, the Rams moved the ball extremely well and really kept the Cavaliers on their heels and second guessing.

The Lady took an early edge over the Cavaliers to start the game, with
Onyesonam Nolisa putting in a layup to make it a 7-2 game.
Amy Easley hit a three-pointer to extend the Ram lead to 17-7 with 13 minutes remaining in the first half.

Almost three minutes ran off the clock before the next bucket when Nolisa broke the scoring silence with a fast break lay-in to make it a 12-point advantage.

Texas Wesleyan exploded on a 13-0 rally that ate up four minutes and capped by a
Tiffany Mitchell triple to make it a 40-16 lead with late in the half.
Lorian Benjamin hit mid-range jumper to take a 44-20 lead into the halftime break.

Easley knocked down four three-pointers in the first half alone that helped the Rams to a hot start. The Rams shot a lights out 68 percent from the field in the first half, and went 7-9 for an incredible 78 percent from behind the arc. St. Gregory's shot only 30 percent from the field, and 25 percent from the three-point line. The Lady Rams did a great job of limiting chances from the free throw line as well, committing only four fouls resulting in just two points.

Katelynn Threats jumper got the second half started for the Lady Rams and sparked a
Caitlin Boal splash from beyond the arc to make it 49-20 Wesleyan. The Lady Rams hit a triple digit lead on a Boal three-point, and one play.

The Ram offense kept pressing the issue and
Cheyenne Swoopes knocked down a two-point jump shot late in the second half to make it a 90-55 lop-sided lead.Â
Angela Nguyen posted up and hit a jumper to give TWU their largest lead at 94-57, and the Lady Rams sprinted to the final buzzer with a 94-60 win.

TWU shot 62 percent from the field, while the Cavs shot 39 percent. The Rams ended the game shooting 60 percent from downtown. Wesleyan also posted a season high 32 assists as a team in the win. The Rams were simply dominant in the paint out-rebounding the Cavs 41-21, while outscoring St. Gregory's 42-12 in the paint. Â

Boal led the Lady Rams with a career-high 22 points.
Krissy Parker also had a career-high 21 points in the win. Threats notched 11 points and nine boards. Easley posted 12 points and six assists for Wesleyan.

The Lady Rams will take on sixth ranked Oklahoma Baptist University (23-4) in a quarterfinal contest starting at 12:30 pm. Â

- The Lady Rams matched their largest margin of victory in a postseason game in school history. Also happened in a the 2005 RRAC Tournament with a 76-47 win over Langston and in the 1979 TAIAW State Tournament with a 76-45 win over McMurry.
