OKLAHOMA CITY, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (14-18, 6-10 SAC) dropped a pair on contests (11-5, 9-4) to NAIA No. 1 Oklahoma City University (37-1, 14-0 SAC) at Ann Lacy Stadium on Saturday.

The Stars broke out to an early lead in the game one, after grabbing a run in the first inning, OCU put up a six run rally in the second to gain a 7-0 spot on the Lady Rams.

Texas Wesleyan fought back in the fourth inning, starting with an
Amber Marlett single through the left side.
Chelsea Anderson ripped one down the left field line for a single and moved to second on a defensive error.
Lauren Gunter knew just how to capitalize with runners in scoring position, sending a ball into the left center gap for a RBI double.
Haley Neill smashed a ball down the right field line, scoring two with the double.
Courtney Kelley capped the run with a RBI single up the middle to cut the lead to 7-4.

The Rams added another run in the fifth inning on an Anderson RBI double to right center field. That would cut the lead to 7-5 and put Wesleyan within striking distance.

Oklahoma City got a run back in the bottom of the fifth, and added three more runs in the sixth on the way to an 11-5 win.

Anderson led the Lady Rams going 2 for 3 with a run batted in. Neill went 1 for 3 with two RBI in the game.

In game two, the Lady Rams got an early lead in the top of the first inning.
Kayla Prachyl singled up the middle to make way for a Marlett single down the left field line to put a runner on third base. A wild pitch allowed Prachyl to score for a 1-0 lead.

The Stars took control of the game after that though, putting up crooked numbers in the first, third, and fourth innings to grab an 8-1 lead.

Texas Wesleyan made a run in the sixth, starting with a Marlett home run blasted over the left center fence. Neill brought around two more runs with a double through the right side to make it an 8-4 game.

The Stars added a run in the bottom of the sixth and would finish with a 9-4 win.

Marlett went 2 for 4 with a solo homerun. Neill went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI in the game.

The Lady Rams will come home and face this same club that is the top ranked Oklahoma City Stars in a double header on Monday, April 13 starting at 5:00 pm at Sycamore Park.Â
